Our formula contains a highly purified, yeast-free beta glucan extract derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Maintaining a strong immune system can often be a challenge in today’s world with high stress levels, poor diets, lack of sleep and environmental pollutants slowing down or interfering with the proper immune response. Beta Glucans is formulated to support the immune system with a broad spectrum of activity, attacking a variety of fungal, viral and parasitic invaders. It works by promoting lymphocyte and macrophage production--the cells in your body that destroy infection and remove debris and toxins. Beta Glucans also has anti-microbial properties making it a great addition to chronic illness treatments or when immunity is down. Our product contains a natural beta 1,3/1,6 glucan derived from the cell wall of a proprietary strain of baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Specific immune cells called macrophages digest Beta Glucans into smaller fragments and slowly release them over a number of days. The fragments then bind to neutrophils (white blood cells), via complement receptor 3 (CR3). Neutrophils are the most abundant immune cells in the body, accounting for 60-70% of all immune cells. The activation of neutrophils by Beta Glucans fragments allows these cells to move faster throughout the body, resulting in a significant boost in immune defense. When the immune system is properly primed, it is able to handle challenges without the spiral of inflammation and sickness that normally takes you out.
