Mould can form on a variety of substrates and the species and toxicity levels can depend on the moisture content and substrate. 

The T001 Tape Sample Kit is used for visual surface mould sampling. Some toxic mould species like Stachybotrys (right) contain spores which do not easily become airborne so are not always detected in air testing samples. In these situations, if you have black & sooty looking mould growth, tape testing is recommended.
